Ryan Doyle

School: Wake Forest-Rolesville High School (Wake Forest, NC)
Position: Offensive Tackle
Height: 6’6″
Weight: 265
40-yard dash time: 4.9
Rivals Rating: 3 stars
Scout Rating: 3 stars (#92 OT)
ESPN Rating: 3 stars (75)
Highlight Tape: I found one, but I’m unable to repost it. If there’s a public one that you know about, let us know.
Pros: Extremely quick off the snap, and very strong. In all of the plays I saw on his highlight tape, he did a lot of cross-blocking (as in, he would block from the left side back toward the middle), and he did it very well, creating holes. He was able to block both linemen and linebackers very well, and he was very, very impressive.
Cons: Right now, he’s too small for an ACC lineman. At 6’6″, he’s a very good height, but he needs to get bigger, which is exactly what he will do with Maryland’s weight program. If he can get to 290, that would be fantastic. He plays very tall, and has a lot of strength for his size.
Prediction: This kid looks very, very good. Assuming he can gain weight, which is what Maryland specializes in, he should be a special kid on the line. Expect him to compete for a starting job on the outside by his sophomore year.
