Highlight Tape:
Pros: Speed, speed, speed. He’s very good running with the ball, and is elusive. Seems pretty good at breaking tackles. He has very good hands, and good awareness of where he is on the field. Runs good routes, as well.
Cons: Strength. In 2009, Cheeseboro was listed at 5’11″, 169. He has since grown an inch and gained 11 pounds, really filling out his frame. He’s still small for an ACC receiver, but will surely get even bigger at Maryland. He needs to get stronger, too, but that will certainly come in Maryland’s vaunted strength system.
Prediction: Cheeseboro is definitely explosive, but his size will hurt him. I think the Terps will be able to use him in a Ronnie Tyler sort of role, playing in the slot and taking advantage of his speed and catching ability and slant routes. After going to Fork Union for a year, he will be farther along in his development than most of the other freshman going in (both in literal age and maturity). I would expect to see Cheeseboro redshirt his first year, and start to get major playing time by his redshirt sophomore year, using his speed in the return game, in the slot role mentioned earlier, and in wide receiver reverses.
